WHIRLPOOL UK COFFEE MORNING RAISES OVER £1,000 FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited, the home of Hotpoint, hosted an in-house coffee morning on Thursday 29th September 2022, raising over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The occasion was held as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, Macmillan Cancer Support’s largest annual fundraising event.

The coffee morning was hosted at the World of Whirlpool centre, located at the company’s UK head office in Peterborough. Colleagues brought in their own home-baked sweet treats to be sold at the event and were invited to stop by to enjoy cake and refreshments.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist health care, information and advice to people living with cancer. Furthermore, the charity offers emotional and financial support, while funding research and campaigning for better care for those affected by the disease. Macmillan Cancer Support is 98 per cent funded by voluntary donations, therefore fundraising activities, such as coffee mornings, are essential to help the charity to deliver vital cancer support.

As part of Whirlpool UK’s commitment to improving life at home, the company regularly provides support to charities, both locally and on a national scale. In addition to establishing several ongoing, long term charity partnerships, Whirlpool UK is dedicated to supporting the communities in which its colleagues live and work. This is demonstrated by the company’s regular sponsorships, donations, volunteering and fundraising activities, helping numerous charities to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities across our society.

Ian Moverley, Communications Director, Whirlpool UK Appliances Limited comments: “We are delighted that our coffee morning raised over £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Our colleagues were extremely generous with their time and donations, and we would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of them for taking part in the event. Cancer is a cause that is close to many of our hearts, and the tireless work undertaken by Macmillan Cancer Support is vital for those living with the disease. Our coffee morning provided an excellent opportunity for our colleagues to get together over cake and refreshments, while helping to raise funds for a truly worthy cause.”
