Step inside this striking BA Kitchen
Moving into a brand-new home is one of the biggest upheavals a person or a family can go through in their lifetime. Deciding on style and finishes can be just as challenging as consumers look towards the trends in the current industry whilst wanting to put their own stamp on their new home.
This is exactly where one of our end users found herself when deciding on the heart of the home; the kitchen.
Mrs M tells us ‘I wanted to choose a kitchen that looked different from the mainstream and what I would class as a safe option that people usually go for. Although, heading down this route had me slightly nervous too because I didn’t want it to be too ‘out there’ that the novelty would wear off in a year’s time’.
‘When I say a safe option, I mean the shaker styles that most desire. We had this style of doors in our old house and I wanted something totally different. I loved the diverse range of doors and styles that BA Components offered and after taking out many sample doors, we decided on their Zurfiz range in the Evora Stone Graphite alongside the Supermatt Light Grey after seeing it in their brochure. The texture with the Evora Stone Graphite compliments the Matt finish of the Light Grey.’
After choosing the doors, it can be even harder to choose the right handle. BA has over 70 handles and knobs to choose from so there really is something to suit every taste. With a young baby, Mrs M. opted for style and practicality. BA’s Inter Handle is routered into the door, giving a super sleek and modern finish but also protecting the ever-exploring baby from opening the doors and getting their little hands on things they shouldn’t!
In this kitchen, you will see splashes of yellow being used on the walls, the chairs and the blinds. This bold but striking move adds character and depth to the kitchen without being too overpowering.
Again, making decisions based on her previous home, Mrs M. decided against a standard stainless-steel sink. ‘
We wanted something that would blend in with the worktop and the grey colour scheme we had chosen. That’s when we fell in love with the Blanco SILGRANIT range in which we opted for the Legra 6 S in their Alu Metallic colour . It offered a complete contrast to stainless steel with a more luxurious look and feel to it.’
Mrs M’s desire to have ‘less is more’ encouraged her to ditch the kettle and opt for the very popular GROHE Red Duo Hot Tap.
‘We are extremely happy with our choice of hot tap. Instant hot water is a great feature in the kitchen. Whether that’s making tea for all the visitors, or prepping vegetables for the dinner, we no longer have the kettle to worry about filling plus it’s one less item on the worktop!’
With the certified GROHE child lock handle with a pull and turn closure, they don’t have to worry about their young child using the hot tap.
Having previously purchased a standard hob for their old kitchen, the family decided to upgrade this time around with the Blanco Induction Hob.
‘With the touch response control and 10 heat levels, it is incredibly fast and responsive in comparison with what we previously used’. Mrs M. declares.
After decided to go with an upstand in the kitchen, as time progressed, Mrs M. realised that white walls were just not practical around the cooking area. After researching tiles for several months, she opted for a very different type of metro tile from British Ceramic Tiles online. A matt finish without the bevelled edge and a length of 300mm, this tile teamed with a grey coloured grout has really brought a more kitchen feel to the room.
After months of decisions and tweaking, we are sure you will agree that this kitchen is super sleek yet extremely fit for purpose.
