Great British Manufacturing Success for Omega PLC

For over 25 years Omega PLC has been proud to manufacture every one of their high-quality branded kitchens in Britain at their state-of-the-art warehouse and production facility in Doncaster.

One of the biggest drivers for home developers and consumers when purchasing kitchens is reliability. Reliability in the quality and design of the kitchen and reliability in the delivery of the kitchen on time in full.  Understanding this Omega invested millions to secure raw materials pre-Brexit and strengthen manufacturing and logistics practises.  By ensuring Omega kitchens are made solely in Britain, in the Yorkshire-based Omega production facility, all customers are confident in the guaranteed on-time delivery promise.

2022 saw the business reap the benefits of this strategy as they celebrate 22% growth across the business.

Omega PLC Contract Sales Director John Cahill says, “The ability to offer succinct supply chain solutions for developers has been a key contributor to the growth of Omega’s contract division. Developers are comfortably reassured, when working with a domestic manufacturer, that we have the capacity and raw materials easily accessible.

Having the manufacturing capacity to react and work closely with our developer partners with our extensive branded product offering in uncertain times is a key factor in buying British. Omega offers effective solutions and reassurances that are essential in ensuring developments are completed in time.”

An integral part of the Omega business is being a continuous member of the MADE In Britain organisation, which is a globally recognised seal of approval making it clear to buyers and consumers that Omega are manufacturing to the very highest standard in Great Britain.

Omega is proud to invest in British craftmanship and the business employs a 400-strong team of dedicated skilled employees predominantly from the South Yorkshire area.  Supporting British talent Omega develops and nurtures the team by championing skills and providing ongoing training and development.

The Omega team are experts in design and lead the way in product development with the most comprehensive painted kitchen collection in the UK, 19 painted door styles in 22 painted colours available on 11 cabinet colours. Kitchen design is very much at the forefront of Omega, looking closely at the changing trends and developing our product offering to be consistently relevant.

Omega PLC Retail Sales Director James Bishton says, “Loyalty to buying British brands has consumer appeal, however persuading the customer whether to buy from UK or Continental suppliers is ultimately directed by the Design consultant.  We understand at Omega that Designers steer customers based on the consistent quality of both product and service they receive project after project.

By holding stock in the UK and not buying raw materials ‘just in time’, we can ensure our service proposition is unrivalled in the UK.  Therefore, with the primary requirements of quality and service ticked, Project Designers will use the added benefit of buying British to their customers in full confidence if promoting brands from Omega PLC.

This closeness in proximity also means we are always on hand to support our partners in ensuring they can offer first-class service to the end consumer. The continuous investment in Omega enables our partners to offer short lead times on the manufacture of the kitchen, which results in less disturbance for the consumer.”

Buying British kitchens, continues to support the national economy, and support employment thus puts money back into the UK economy to be invested in other areas. It also ensures that key factors around sustainability and the need to reduce carbon emissions which continues to be at the forefront of everyone’s mind are factored into the choice.

Omega PLC has always created stylish and durable kitchens which are made to last with the lowest possible impact on the environment and with sustainability being an integral consideration to consumer purchasing decisions the business is prioritising investment and development in this field.

Omega PLC CEO Simon Barber says, “We are proud of our British heritage and the reassurance it provides to customers that we are experienced, established and can be trusted.  We manufacture all our kitchens in Britain and through careful planning have capitalised on this strength to deliver the highest quality designs and products and always on time.  Investment in our facilities, supplies, infrastructure, and designs together with the continued hard work of our employees has enabled the business to grow in both the retail and the contracts market.”
