New production machinery represents a significant investment.
RENOLIT Cramlington Ltd recently saw the completion of a new calender production line with an official opening by Mr Hansjakob Müller, Shareholder of the Supervisory Board, of RENOLIT SE. The event was also attended by other members of the Supervisory Board, and senior RENOLIT SE managers.
The new calender is a machine which converts raw materials (resin, stabilisers, pigments etc) into a pvc sheet, the basic raw material used in the manufacture of RENOLIT’s film products supplied to the window, furniture and interior decoration markets. It represents an investment in the region of £5 million and in making such an investment, the RENOLIT Group is confirming their commitment to maintaining a strong manufacturing facility in the UK.
The installation work took nearly 1 year to complete, in which time new foundations needed to be built to stabilise the 31 metre long machine. Once installed the machine was fitted with the latest control equipment to allow the company to produce films to an accuracy of 1 hundredth of a millimetre.
RENOLIT Cramlington is committed to producing consistently high quality products which meet the exacting standards of its customers. The company has an enviable reputation for design leadership in the market and this new machine will enable the company to continue to further improve its quality. The enhanced capabilities of the new calender have widened the scope of products that can be produced in Cramlington which bodes well for the future.
During the same period of time RENOLIT Cramlington also completely refurbished a disused office block to create the Northumbria Building, a state-of-the-art presentation area with conference and meeting facilities. A custom-built Design Centre has been incorporated at the heart of the building to house a permanent display of the company’s products and provide an impressive environment for business meetings and new product design presentations.
Customers and suppliers are welcome to visit the site to see the improved manufacturing facilities for themselves and for a product presentation in the Design Centre.
