Creating a design statement in the kitchen

A view of the sink market as it currently stands reflects how rapidly this sector has developed over recent years. As with most products that belong to the kitchen industry, no longer are sinks simply regarded as a basic, functional necessity but are now a key tool used to make a design statement. Those manufactured using stainless steel continue to be highly in demand despite brands exploring new avenues in terms of both product innovation and the development of materials used.

With stainless steel maintaining a dominant position in the market with over a 70% share, customers feel it remains a reliable purchase with assured durability and longevity, whilst still boasting attractive aesthetics that complement any kitchen design.

Despite the prominence of stainless steel, alternative materials including ceramic and composite have also experienced a significant rise in sales. While ceramic is often typically associated with traditional Belfast and Butler styles, it is now also lending itself to contemporary designs ideal for the modern setting.

With regards to composite, manufacturers have come to realise that customers are in search of a product that not only adds interest to a kitchen space, but is a dependable purchase able to withstand a constant amount of use everyday. Composite has the ability to tick all of these boxes, and as this fact has now been recognised, the demand for sinks of this material is expected to rise.
