Second Nature’s contemporary Remo range by PWS has been awarded Designer Magazine’s 2011 Gold Award for product innovation. The Awards reward products that highlight the vital role of designers and manufacturers in driving innovation in the home. The design process for Remo evolved the handleless kitchen concept, combining curved-cabinetry to create distinctive designs.
The innovation of Remo is exemplified with registered design status which has been awarded for the originality and distinguishing features of the curved-barrel drawers which configure to create an impressive island. The worktop also plays an important role in the design: the shark’s nose profile complements the j-trim handle profile, allowing easy opening.
The product had to demonstrate innovation, a strong design and development process, functionality in serving a process and the acid test, that it had delivered actual sales. Remo achieved all of this, its registered design status and glowing customer testimonial adding further weight to the application.
