Paul Newson, Saniflo’s Managing Director explains the background to the development of the Sanilife range. As life expectancy increases and there is a huge shift in the demographics both here and through-out the Western world, we are getting older and living longer. In consequence there is an increasing demand for products to improve the quality of life for the less able either through disability or the natural ageing process.
These products enable them to remain in their own homes, where formerly they may have needed to be re-homed into a care-home or similar.
Bathrooms have all too often been overlooked and any adaptations that were made were stereotypically ‘clinical’ and not too ascetically pleasing. They also meant that they limited the use of the bathroom to the less able and were not ‘all inclusive’ adaptations which were family friendly. This represented a major problem for families and prompted Saniflo with its reputation for innovation, to provide a solution.
Saniflo have developed a range of ‘inclusive design’ products called Sanilife that enable major practical modifications to be made to a bathroom to enable the elderly and disabled person to remain in their own home, but the nature of the design makes them perfect for use by the whole family – especially for children as the height of the toilet and wash-hand basin can be adjusted to accommodate their growth! The days of the unsightly, ‘disabled’ bathroom are a thing of the past.
