Independent Living from Hafele
Published:  11 November, 2011

Hafele have introduced various systems to help improve independent living throughout Education Facilities, Sheltered Housing, Care Homes and Rehabilitation centres. There are 4 options to choose from, each with unique functionality for user requirements:

The ‘Basic’ range is an economical occasional adjustment system using a jack system.  This allows a 3rd party to alter the height of up to a 3m worktop, adjusting over a 30cm range and wall cabinets over a 25cm range vertically.

The ‘Manual’ range is for infrequent use by a 3rd party and raises / lowers up to a 3m worktop by 30cm using a removable handle that fits into the facia plate mounted underneath the worktop.

The ‘Electric’ range is designed for frequent use allowing the user to press a control switch altering the height of the worktop over a 30cm range and wall cabinets can be adjusted over a 30cm range vertically.

Developing from this, the electric ‘Diagonal’ range allows the wall units to be lowered by 43cm and altered 18cm forward.

All the electrical wall systems are able to have a safety stop plate installed to prevent trapping when lowering, with the option to include lighting, helping to improve visibility.
