Mira sets the standard for choice, style and affordability
Published:  26 September, 2011

As showers become ever more popular amongst the time-pressed and environmentally conscious Brits Mira has raised the bar for enclosures and trays in terms of affordable style, choice and ease of installation.

Mira’s Flight range of shower enclosures offers both framed and semi-frameless models to suit any décor. The framed range - Mira Flight ACE – include pivot, bi-fold, quadrant  and sliding doors that can be combined with panels to give up to 16 different enclosure styles: from extended alcove enclosures to more compact arrangements for en suite situations. The range offers exceptional value as this Semi-framed style, with 6mm glass on the pivot and sliding doors, comes at a price normally associated with a fully-framed 3-4mm product. And all frames are offered finished in polished silver – the finish which accounts for 90% of demand from consumers seeking this type of product.

For those drawn to the upmarket appeal of frameless enclosures, Mira has developed the Mira Flight SFE, a cost-effective high-style alternative that offers up to 19 different enclosure styles. The range includes pivot, bi-fold, sliding doors, double sliding doors, quadrants and walk-ins that will combine with panels to styles ranging from large walk-in areas to more compact arrangements for en suite situations. The range also features Mira’s patented “Slide & Lock” mechanism which removes the need to drill the frame and makes adjustment easy, simplifying and speeding up the installation process.

Mira’s market-leading Flight range of shower trays adds style, durability and hygiene to the whole package, being made from durable acrylic capped resin stone using the unique Flight sandwich construction. This means that it is not only extremely strong but also very light and so easy to handle and install.

To keep unsightly mould at bay and protect against bacteria, Mira has used BioCote® technology - antibacterial agent, which is incorporated into the manufacturing process itself. BioCote® reduces bacteria and mould by up to 99.9% and is already used in healthcare applications. The high gloss white finish on the range means no discolouration, scratches or chips.

As the ‘wet room’ look is becoming more popular, Mira has also developed the Flight Low shower trays, which feature a 40mm profile instead of the usual 90-150mm.

As ever with Mira, the emphasis for all these products is very much on ‘installability’ – providing installers and their fitting teams with an enclosure solution that’s faster to fit, delivers a cleaner, more professional installation and improves productivity and/ or profitability on site.

And all these products are robust. Not only are they backed by a 10-year guarantee but they are thoroughly tested. Doors are tested for 32,000 slam cycles – equivalent to 20 years use by a family of four showering daily. Similarly, every panel tested to BSEN14428+A1 (2008) which represents the impact of being hit by a 20 stone person falling over.

Mira has also developed an online, interactive shower enclosure selector that takes visitors through the process of selecting a shower enclosure step-by-step to choose the right style, shape, ‘handedness’ and size; so they identify the perfect item for their needs.
