Surface materials distributor IDS has been awarded OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series), further enhancing its commitment to health and safety across 11 branches nationwide together with five other company locations, giving it a market leading position within its industry sector.
The award was gained in July following an audit programme of all 16 locations. IDS’ largest branch, the 100,000 sq ft Central Distribution Centre at Nuneaton will now be audited annually and all other branches every five years. The OHSAS award adds to the company’s impressive record of achievements which include winning the prestigious Saint Gobain Diamond Award; completing 1.6 million hours without a Lost Time Accident in 2009/10; and receiving the RoSPA Silver Award (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) in 2010 and 2011.
