Intelligent design creates space saving solutions

It is a common challenge for the bathroom designer: how to get the most out of a restricted space. The balance between storage, space and style is key, especially with the current trends that have seen the focus on bathrooms moving from purely functional to a more luxurious hotel or spa style. Achieving this feel whilst not compromising on space does pose a challenge which both the bathroom suppliers and designers work hard together to meet.

Modern bathroom furniture, sanitaryware and accessories designed with space in mind give the designer a portfolio of tools to use when trying to maximise space in even the smallest room. For example, suppliers of sanitaryware provide short projection products that are designed to take up as little room as possible whilst remaining usable.

Bathroom furniture suppliers are achieving similar results through reduced depth furniture which in combination with short projection sanitaryware gives you that all-important storage space without dominating the room. Recessing units into the wall is another great space saving concept and can create a stunning finish with units flush within the wall.

Wall hung modular furniture is a key trend that has taken the UK by storm over recent years. Its success in some part can be put down to the way it solves many of the bathroom designer’s challenges. Many shapes and sizes of modular furniture are available that provide ample storage space and create a designer minimalist look. They can also create a central focal point for the room and by being wall hung they free up floor space and create the illusion of a larger space.

Whatever the size of the room there are products on hand to save space, whilst being practical and enabling the designer to deliver the stylish bathroom that is required.
