Ideal Bathrooms official 30th anniversary celebration was attended by nearly 300 special guests in the impressive surroundings of Manchester’s The Monastery. Guests at The May Ball were made up of retail customers, Ideal Bathrooms’ key brand suppliers and staff representation together with company founders Isaac and Fowzi Baroukh.
Guests were welcomed by managing director John Bagshaw who commented on the inspiration of company founders who revolutionised the business of bathroom distribution to become the number one specialist distributor. Today the company is equally committed to upholding its preeminent position for the next three decades.
The business philosophy remains as always based firmly on excellence of customer service supporting a big brands strategy with a £6 million stockholding, next day delivery service, keen pricing and marketing initiatives such as the CYIB, Big Book of Displays and Supertrade. Planning for the future, the latest investments include virtually doubling warehouse capacity at Milton Keynes together with an increase in staff and investment in the latest technology and systems.
During the evening over £22,000 was raised for charity partner Help the Hospices towards a £50,000 goal. This impressive amount was generated through the generous donations of superb auction prizes such as VIP tickets to the British Grand Prix, Wimbledon and the FA Cup Final.
Chief executive of SGBD Peter Hindle MBE referred to the acquisition of Ideal Bathrooms in 2005 and paid tribute to the teams’ dedication and tremendous success, commenting that the key element had been the people rather than buildings and stock.
He also made a special presentation to Roger Cooper, Ideal Standard International’s vice president of Western Europe who he referred to as: “an industry great who has brought great innovation to his company Ideal Standard”.
The presentation marked Roger’s retirement after over 40 years of working for Ideal Standard and a 30-year partnership between Ideal Standard and Ideal Bathrooms, throughout which he has played a key role. “The professionalism and the relationship have continued to grow between the two businesses and I am delighted to see our partnership strengthening as it does.”
“We really wanted to have an event which would bring together our suppliers, our customer friends and our own people to celebrate this special occasion,” comments Ideal Bathrooms commercial director Danielle Lillis. “The celebrations continue until the end of the year with a whole host of promotions and prizes still to come in our 30th anniversary promotion. Thanks to all who attended the ball and to those who worked so hard behind the scenes. In particular, I would like to thank lead sponsor of the event Ideal Standard and all other sponsors whose contributions helped to make the whole event such a success.”
