New surface finishes for authentic worktop decors from Westag & Getalit
Published:  12 July, 2011

Three new surface textures for Westag & Getalit’s HPL-laminate bonded worktops were launched at KBB London. From the discreet textile structure of Tessuto to the authentic stone surfaces of Roca and Scivaro, numerous possible surface and decor combinations were displayed.

To give laminate stone reproductions decors an authentic feel, you need a surface structure that looks natural and provides a haptic experience that allows you to ‘feel’ the decor. The Scivaro finish imitates the natural surface feel of slate while the slight irregular cavities in the Roca finish gives the HPL laminate worktop an authentic look and feel of quarry stone.

The Tessuto textile finish offers just the right texture for modern retro looks. This new surface structure gives Westag & Getalit’s new decors the look and ‘feel’ of linen. The new finish will be available for the Brown line stock decor.

GetaLit HPL laminate decor innovations

Also at KBB London, the manufacturer showcased 22 new decors which are available in the stock range immediately. With these latest additions, the European range of GetaLit elements now comprises more than 200 different decors. After an extensive customer survey and an analysis of the latest trade fair results, new decors have been added to the range for the next three years.

Characteristic innovations include stone, linen and ‘used-look’ decors. In addition to the standard cylinder printed stock decors, Westag & Getalit showed two new authentic trend wood digital printed HPL laminate decors at KBB. In contrast to conventional wood reproduction decors which are standard cylinder printed, with digitally printed woodgrain decors structure repeats can be avoided for long wall runs – resulting in a more realistic appearance.
