Two in one – why the showerbath continues to thrive

Despite the growth of the shower enclosure market, sales within the showerbath and overbath screen markets remain good. Perhaps one of the most significant reasons for this is due to the UK’s typically space-challenged bathroom as well as our love of the tub!

The traditional appeal of the bath will never leave us – it will always have its place despite today’s busy lifestyles demanding quick daily showering. By updating with one of the latest showerbath designs with coordinating bath screen provides the best of both worlds within a highly efficient use of space.

Constant developments in the design and manufacture of the showerbath are keeping product ranges innovative and exciting. The versatile design properties of high grade acrylic have allowed creativity to flow in the evolving range of space-saving and luxury showerbath models now available, which are not only designed to perform but will look great for years to come.

In terms of shape, the streamlined space-saving showerbath with tapered edge is very popular, whilst the curved P-shape bath offers a spacious showering area ideal for families with children. One of the latest additions and a firm favourite is the contemporary L-shape bath. Offering a clean designer look through its uncomplicated angular structure, the L-shape showerbath follows trends within sanitaryware as well as the influence of the enclosure market, teaming up with similar geometric lines.

Another growth area in showerbaths is to upgrade with a whirlpool system. It has become significantly easier and cheaper to combine Wellness products with standard showerbaths – in fact one of our best selling lines is a P-shape showerbath fitted with the Wellness option!

Whilst the bathroom continues to remain small and manufacturers continue to produce stylish and innovative designs to compete with enclosures, sales of showerbaths and screens look set to remain steady.
