Ceramic tiles have a relatively long expected lifespan so maybe it’s not surprising that white is the most popular choice. However, the range of whites available is quite extensive including many size options, surface structures and a variety of textured prints. The most recent developments include lustres, sparkles, raised prints and micro textures, all of which add to the surface dynamic.
The Chambray range from British Ceramic Tile offers an elegant linen effect field tile and Brocade feature wall tile. The Brocade design is a truly striking choice creating the look of heavily embroidered tapestry. The raised relief and metallic print designed on a contrasting background coordinate with the plain field tiles.
The Isadore floral range from British Ceramic Tile’s Laura Ashley collection provides an up to date and dramatic variation on the traditional black & white theme. Available in three designs with lustre print, the wall tiles can be used in many combinations to create a striking room setting.
The format of tiles and the method of application can go a long way towards the overall finished effect. The more modern approach is to go for a contrasting wall or panel, or an offset vertical feature strip. The introduction of a mosaic panel may be all that is needed to create interest, especially in a smaller space.
