Committing to a huge product research and development programme, Britain’s leading manufacturer of kitchen sinks and taps, Astracast, looked at material trends, shapes and colours, before coming up not only with a product that is perfectly suited to the current trend for natural stone in the home, but is unique, innovative and technically advanced.
After a year of detailed product innovation, research and development, Astracast is launching ROK TEX®, manufactured from Astracast’s uniquely developed composite material ROK Metallic®.
Replicating the natural appearance and feel of slate, ROK TEX® combines an exclusive composite material with manufacturing innovation, resulting in an industry first. ROK TEX® not only looks good, but offers many properties that would make it a sensible purchase for longevity and peace of mind. The material is heat resistant up to 280°C, as well as offering water and light resistance; meaning that over time and with heavy use, the colour and textured surface will not fade or rub away.
Resistant to thermal shock, a problem sometimes associated with cheaper composites, ROK TEX® is offered with a lifetime guarantee and comes complete with impact, scratch and stain resistance. Providing versatility, ROK TEX® comes in both single and 1.5 bowl options.
On sale from summer 2011 will be the first ROK TEX® product launch, the Contour sink, and Astracast has announced an introductory offer that consumers will not be able to resist. For a limited period only an accessory pack will be offered free of charge with every sink purchased, worth up to £120.
The complementary accessory pack has been created specifically for Contour by Astracast’s team of in house designers. The single bowl sink pack will retail at £80 and includes a glass chopping board and stainless steel bowl grid that protects the sink from heavy pans.
The glass chopping board has been designed to fit neatly onto the Contour drainer, yet can also be used as a stand-alone on the work surface and is ideal for food preparation of all kinds.
The accessories pack for the 1.5 bowl sink will retail at £120 and contains both the grid and glass chopping board but also an additional stainless steel colander that fits neatly into the half bowl. These additions not only create a complete ‘work station’ but a handsome addition to any home.
The Contour sink in ROK TEX® will retail at around £490 (inc. VAT) for the single bowl, while the 1.5 bowl sink will retail from £540 (inc VAT) and both will include Astracast’s innovative chrome pop up waste.
