Sanitary system from CME recycles water to flush WCs
Published:  10 March, 2011

The Ecoplay greywater management system from CME Sanitary Systems recycles bath and shower water, using it to flush up to two WCs.

“Ecoplay makes it possible to retain power showers and normal deep baths while remaining within the latest reduced water consumption levels set by the Code for Sustainable Homes,” explains business development director Graham Fisher. “The system is becoming popular in areas with water shortages and has major environmental benefits while helping to reduce water bills.”

Self-cleaning, Ecoplay requires minimum maintenance. Within its storage tank, a skimmer removes particles from the surface of the water with heavier waste sinking to the bottom before it is flushed away. The remaining clean water is then transferred into a 100 litre storage tank - enough for approximately 15 toilet flushes.

If toilets are not flushed within 24 hours, the system automatically releases the stored water to waste before importing sufficient fresh water to flush them.
