IDS publishes its policy on Corporate Social Responsibility

Surface materials distributor IDS has launched a brochure on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). While the company has been diligently observing the principles of CSR for many years, this is the first officially published document available to anyone interested to learn more about IDS’s policy.

This covers a whole range of areas including sustainability, environmental policy, responsible product sourcing, waste minimisation, supply chain, quality assurance, transport, equality and diversity, health and safety, charitable donations – in addition to training and development.

IDS has set itself a series of Key Performance Indicators to measure and monitor actions and achievement. The past five years has seen real results in reducing carbon dioxide emissions though fuel consumption as well as waste to landfill and in-bound packaging.

In the same period IDS has increased the amount of FSC and PEFC certified product as part of its portfolio from 56% to a current level of 81%.
