Mirrors have always been essential item in any bathroom. However leading bathroom products designer and supplier HiB has taken what has long been a simple product and often an afterthought to a new level in terms of design and function.
HiB’s Marketing Director, Steve Kaye says that effective lighting is a fundamental aspect of modern bathroom design: “There is ambient lighting provided by ceiling and wall fittings and there is ‘focus’ lighting for applications like make-up, shaving. At HiB we realised that designing focus lighting into the mirrored product is a two-way winner.”
In terms of innovation HiB have already set the pace with their extremely popular RadioStar mirrors which gives the user music, news, weather and traffic via an integrated Stereo radio and alarm clock and other advanced functions.
However it is the latest mirror product introduction that has created real excitement – a series of stylish LED illuminated mirrors with a re-moveable, re-chargeable battery power source. This means that, for the first time, a customer can buy an illuminated mirror off the shelf, take it home and hang it without the cost and time of a qualified electrician to link it in to the mains. The long lasting batteries are encased in a power pack that fits neatly into the side of the mirrors and is easily removed for quick re-charge via a (supplied) mains adapter.
HiB’s brand new 2011 92-page colour brochure has a comprehensive section on the latest mirror designs including LED mirrors with shaver sockets, demistable LED mirrors, beautifully designed back-lit mirrors and the fascinating range of infinity mirrors. Styles are wide and varied giving a huge scope of choice including ‘mirror on mirror’ designs, framed mirrors and the superb 120cm wide bevelled landscape mirrors.
With all new HiB products now exclusively designed in-house they have transferred much of this design and technology to their mirrored cabinets. The either symmetrical or asymmetrical doors have either embedded or overhead illumination. Behind these are excellent storage facilities. Some designs have a mirrored back panel to the interior.
Added to the 23 illuminated mirrored cabinet designs in the new HiB brochure there is also a full range of stainless steel cabinets.
All HiB illuminated products are designed to be eco-responsible with low energy consumption and the importance of the HiB as a supplier of quality illuminated bathroom products has been officially recognised by The Lighting Association.
