Franke solve the extractor noise dilemma
Published:  09 February, 2011

Through extensive research and sophisticated dynamic simulations, Franke has identified the major cause of noise in hoods and has launched two new hoods to beat it – the Decorative Brick Sil-K 90 and Decorative Brick Sil-K Island. Perfect for open plan living, soundproofing partitions in the hoods, which increase sound absorbing surfaces, eliminate noise flow in favour of silent air flow. Sil-K technology therefore cancels out sound emissions coming from the diffuser and filters, thereby reducing hood sound power by 12DB (A). 16 hoods equipped with Silk-K technology make the same amount of noise as one standard hood!

With digital displays, the stylish and sophisticated hoods boast four-speed extraction settings – plus the ‘intensive’ setting option via an electronic control; an optional remote-controlled operation is also available.

In addition, the hoods feature perimetric extraction, the most efficient form on the market and 24-hour continuous ventilation which provides a constant flow of fresh air in the kitchen all day long. Both the Decorative Brick Sil-K 90, which is 90cm wide, and the Decorative Brick Sil-K Island, which is 100cm wide, boast the filter saturation indicator. Optional charcoal filters are also available; these offer the very best solution for containing odours when fitting the hood in recirculatory mode
