Although not yet a legal requirement in the UK, EN 442 gives confidence to the consumer that a product will perform as stated. If two physically similar products are shown to have very different outputs, the chances are that at least one is wrong. Independent testing, commissioned by Zehnder Group and carried out by an EN 442 certified laboratory, has found that the published outputs of some products on the market are overstated by more than double the actual EN 442 tested results.
