The industry is more competitive than ever, offering a harder territory within which to grow

With the ever-growing impact in this country of minimalist and continental styles for the bathroom, we are reaching the stage whereby we have to be more individual and innovative to attract the potential customer.

With such a wide variety of products on offer in terms of shower controls, enclosures, bathscreens, brassware and sanitaryware, the look and feel of a product to create a positive image is paramount. Therefore we can no longer afford to rest on our laurels with old ideas and revamps of existing ranges. The market moving forward, becoming ever more creative in terms of design to encroach beyond basic functionality, is particularly important considering that there is more limited brand recognition than, say, kitchen appliances.

The simple concept of a bathscreen has also played witness to radical changes. Thicker glass, practicality features such as easy to clean features in the form of glass coatings to name but a few have been adapted for use on such screens.

The industry is more competitive than ever, offering a harder territory within which to grow a business, but product quality is also better than ever. The entire industry has reacted in a positive and constructive manner to improve the concept of design and innovation; long gone are the days when a change in a small area of design can be termed ‘a new thing’ but the industry still has a vibrancy where design is concerned.
