Situated on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in Devon, where tile manufacturing has taken place for well over a century, British Ceramic Tile is now a market leading, 24/7 manufacturing operation. Following a multi-million pound investment programme, British Ceramic Tile now combines the very best of British design with quality, value and a serious approach to social and environmental responsibilities.
Inspired by both Britain’s urban and rural landscapes, the UK based design team ensure that the range of tiles on offer is truly diverse. The originality, variety and quality of the product means they are applicable to a wide selection of domestic, commercial and industrial settings across both public and private domains.
British Ceramic Tile is committed to sustainability and reducing its impact on the environment. It sources its raw materials locally and recycles everything where possible, including rainwater, back into the production process. Its efforts earned British Ceramic Tile ISO14001 accreditation in December 2008.
British Ceramic Tile has recently launched a range of new floor tiles which offer versatile, hard wearing, design-led options. Available in 333 x 333mm size they can be used in a range of environments from kitchens, reception areas, bathrooms and conservatories.
Sheila Elliot, Creative Director for British Ceramic Tile comments, “The new floor tiles provide total coordination with some of our most popular wall tile ranges. Floor tiles are being widely used throughout the home and this latest offering has been designed with that in mind. They provide a selection of practical and stylish design options for use in a variety of environments.”
The new Whitehall and Blackfriars floor tiles (shown top right) can be used either in one colourway across the entire room or a monochrome option for a more striking design.
As part of the existing Dartmoor Naturals the new Limestone (shown in main image) and Pulpis floors, are influenced by the natural beauty of the Dartmoor moorland landscape. The floors are a perfect match to the natural stone inspired wall tiles available in sophisticated satin finish
The new Elgin Marbles floors replicate the timeless elegance of real marble with a delicate light marble vein and match the existing Elgin Marbles wall tile collection allowing you to create a fully co-ordinated look. The non-directional pattern of the tile means it can be used in any orientation. (Shown in Crema Marfil and White, bottom right).
The new floor tiles have been produced under the ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems, reaching international quality and environmental standards respectively. Durable, stain and chemical resistant, the tiles have also been rated by the Porcelain Enamel Institute (PEI), measuring the wear and resistance of glazed tile surfaces.
