With growth of 20-30% over the past three to five years, The kitchen storage sector of the market is performing strongly

It’s really encouraging to see the kitchen storage sector of the market performing so strongly, particularly in the current difficult climate. This sector has grown dramatically over the past three to five years, I would estimate by between 20 – 30%, and I confidently expect this to continue.

Storage components are vitally important for maximising available space within cabinets and allowing the consumer to arrange items in an organised and accessible way. The large increase in sales can be attributed to a growing awareness and expectation on the part of the consumer and also by increasingly innovative and ingenious products coming on to the market.

There is a huge opportunity here for designers and retailers to increase the average order of their sales. All they have to do is ensure the consumer knows what is available to enhance their kitchen. Lifestyle brochures can prove an invaluable sales aid here, allowing the consumer to envisage the many different items available to them.

Currently, internal drawer storage solutions are the most popular items in LDL’s extensive range but new and innovative products are continually being launched into this exciting sector. The next level is electronic drawers and electronic lift up mechanisms and we are already beginning to see these products entering the market.
