Waving the Italian flag for the very best in design and performance
Comment by FLAVIO BUCCIANTI Managing Director, Novellini
Published:  11 October, 2010

Italian style has always been associated with creativity and elegance. Automobiles have been one of the most successful arenas for Italian design with designers like Pininfarina creating works of art like Ferrari to more grass roots vehicles like the Peugeot 205 and Fiat Uno. From cars to fashion Italian design is omnipresent Dolce & Gabana, Versace, and back to motorcycles; Ducati, Lambretta, Aprillia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, Bennelli – Italian design is a byword for credibility and chic.

Inside the home Italian design has been quietly making its way to the top of consumer consciousness thanks to growing numbers of kitchen manufacturers both in and outside Italy using the very best design houses for kitchens, brassware, washing machines and ovens. Who knows, perhaps the universal language of Italian design that we see for car, motor cycle/scooters and haute couture could be adopted in the design, engineering and manufacture of more commonplace products in the home like showers, wet-rooms and baths.
