The 2011 Tile Association Awards are coming to town! Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!

The 2011 TTA Awards are now open for nominations. There are 21 categories and you can download the entry form and rules from the TTA website, www.tiles.org.uk, in the 2011 Awards section.

The categories that will most interest readers of BKU Update are:

Best use of tile by a house developer

If you are provided tiles, tiling or associated products to what you consider to be the best housing development in the UK, this category will be one for you to enter.

Judges will be looking at the amount of tiling used in the development of multiple homes or apartments. Design, of course, is paramount and clever use of tile will gain extra marks.

Best use of tile in a private house

The use of tile in the home can make the difference between an average and an aspirational home. This award recognises the impact that a well-designed tiling project can have in a private house.

Most innovative tile installation

This new award, which should have been completed in the calendar year 2010, applauds innovation in the design or use of a tile in a tiling project of any size. This award will be judged particularly on the design aspect of the project.

For all contract awards the tiles used could be ceramic, porcelain or natural stone and the project will have been completed in the year to 31 December 2010

Best Innovation

The winner of the Best Innovation award will be a product or service that can “make a difference” to the tile industry. It may be a new device, specialist product or tool, adhesive or grout – the possibilities are endless. The product or service will have been launched onto the UK market in the year to 31 December 2010.

Entries must be in, complete, by 17th December 2010.
