New worktops by Granite Transformations
Published:  02 September, 2010

Granite Transformations has introduced agglomerate worktops that are at least two-thirds lighter and thinner than other materials like granite, marble or engineered stone - yet sacrifice nothing in terms of strength and performance.

Unlike comparable materials, the agglomerate can be installed directly on top of a tired old surface showing signs of age, to give a smooth, attractive finish.

Around 95% Italian granite, quartzite or tempered glass is blended with a specially-formulated polyester resin and then heat cured to form an extremely tough, non-porous and stain-resistant material. The slabs are produced precisely ¼” (6.7mm) thick and sealed completely before being cut into three metre lengths.

Beneath the polished surface are various grades of granite, quartz or glass chips create unique effects. Bonded to a waterproof structural board such as Phonotherm 200, it’s perfect for topping off new kitchen cabinets, while the non-porous construction makes it ideal for wet rooms, showers, bath surrounds, flooring and vertical cladding.
