PWS’ Avant Black range was selected for an award-winning show garden at the Chelsea Flower Show. Instead of worktops, lilies and orchids were planted on top of the base units.
Leading garden designer Tony Smith created the Urban Plantaholic’s Garden Kitchen, taking a theme where the garden became part of the living space with the kitchen being the focal point. The garden belongs to an eccentric bachelor who lives in the city and has a stressful job. Away from work, he wants to escape into his own world with only his beloved plants for company. He has allowed his latest passion, orchids to take over the kitchen.
In conjunction with sponsor Easigrass (supplier of artificial grass) the Urban Plantaholic’s Garden Kitchen was awarded Silver Gilt, just missing gold by one point. It was the first time that both a real kitchen and artificial grass had been seen in a garden at the RHS Show.
