Combination of feature and function drive showerbath market

The bathroom has evolved from merely a functional room in a home to become a haven to escape the increasing pressures of everyday life where people go to relax and unwind. While a freestanding bath can be a stunning feature in a large bathroom, it is not a practical solution for all.

Architects and builders are not always overly generous in the space dedicated to the bathroom, particularly in new build homes. Therefore, increasingly consumers are looking for a combination of modern, stunning designs that will create a focal point in the creation of a peaceful haven for relaxation, while maintaining the practicality required in everyday life.

Designers need to be aware of both these requirements and find clever ways of combining practicality with cutting edge designs. One very popular bath design trend to achieve this is the showerbath which can be a clever space saving alternative to trying to accommodate both a bath and a stand-alone shower compartment.

Originally created in P-shape designs, the showerbath has now evolved into designs with very sleek, clean lines that suit the current trends in bathroom design. A good showerbath design highlights that a bath can be both functional and desirable.
