Flexibility counts especially in today’s market where value for money is a top priority

Replacing a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom is a decision that’s likely to impact on the purchaser’s lifestyle for years to come, and is a decision that needs to be approached in a measured and informed manner.

It’s vitally important the materials used, the production processes employed and the design applied are of a standard to produce the best possible end product.

In a market sector that has suffered much and is now showing signs of recovery we need to be aware of the mindset and the considerations our customers are applying when making buying decisions.

Customers are pricing more options, considering them longer and looking for good value, best possible design and above all flexibility. The buying patterns we are seeing in our market today remind me of how buying a car used to be, before today’s all singing all dancing, everything included models were available; then we bought a basic model and enjoyed the thrill of adding all the extras we needed and wanted.

Component buying as opposed to ‘complete’ in our industry offers this same thrill.

The carcase I prefer, the doors I’ve always wanted and in a variety of colours and textures, the handles, wirework and appliances that work for me and fulfil my needs, in other words, total flexibility to improve my particular lifestyle with the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom designed and assembled just for me. That ‘bespoke’ rather than ‘off the shelf’ feeling.

This flexibility is what our customers now expect, and by sourcing and supplying the correct componentry at the best price we grow our business and see the green shoots of recovery flourish.
