Recent trade exhibitions have been very successful for the Bathrooms Manufacturers Association. Yvonne Orgill, its chief executive, explains why.
“Exhibitions have come in for some criticism in recent years,” comments Orgill “but our members are now beginning to find that targeted niche events are proving to be very successful for them. Eco build, 100% Design, Sleep, HIP and even kbb seem to have a renewed energy and these smaller events, which are so much easier to get around, are growing in popularity for both exhibitors and visitors.”
The BMA itself has exhibited a lot, on behalf of its members, during the first half of 2010. It has found that the quality of visitors has been good and the halls have not just been filled with souvenir hunters.
“The BMA stand at eco-build, kbb and HIP have all proved very successful for us,” says Orgill. “Good strong leads have been generated for our Bathroom Academy and Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme. Both of these industry initiatives are creating a lot of interest and WEPLS in particular is growing fast. Retailers have found the new free registration of their showrooms in the WEPLS database is paying dividends.”
The BMA also received enquiries from a dozen or so firm membership prospects. “In the current climate this is great news. Maybe this is the sign that we are emerging from recession.”
The BMA’s stands have been the backdrop for all of the activities of the BMA.
