Gx Glass was commissioned by Design Republic to supply doors and wall cladding for Cascades Tower - an upmarket residential development near London’s Canary Wharf.
Gx Glass manufactured and installed 14 doors of various sizes, all produced from 10mm toughened float glass. While the doors for the main entrance were supplied in clear glass, the others have a sandblasted finish to one side. The doors for the gym, sauna, pool and changing rooms had their room names left clear within the sandblasted area.
Within the entrance hallway, the wall cladding consisted of 14 panels of 6mm soft white RAL 9010 Lacobel back painted glass.
This was adhesive-fixed to the walls between the skirting and the ceiling to give a high quality, easily maintained and aesthetically pleasing finish.
Max Spenser-Morris and Design Republic won the Designer Award for Bathrooms - Contract and Housebuilders for this project at the KBB Review Industry Awards 2010.
