Robust self-closing tap from Schell helps water conservation
Published:  07 July, 2010

A robust, reliable and highly practical self closing tap has been introduced by Schell. Designed primarily for heavy use in public and semi-public washrooms or industrial and commercial settings, the Petit SC is simple to install, hygienic and vandal-resistant - its simple contours offer little scope for the accumulation of dirt or for accidental or even deliberate damage.

The self-closing mechanism can be pre-set to cut off after 6-15 seconds. Water savings of up to 40% compared with standard hand-closed taps are realistically claimed, says Schell.

With a DZR-resistant brass body finished in highly polished chrome plate, the self-closing function is controlled by a corrosion-proof cartridge within the tap that grants reliable operation with very low actuation forces. It can be used for cold or pre-mixed water and is suitable for all but the

largest basin; a wall-mounted version is available with a standard outlet length of 70mm which can be almost doubled with a 60mm extension.
