Coventry based bathroom manufacturer Showerlux UK has pledged its support to Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) by sponsoring a charity clay pigeon shoot and black tie fundraising dinner.
The charity event, held recently in Northamptonshire, had an ambitious target of raising £10,000, however, due to generous support from local companies such as Showerlux UK the event raised a staggering £11,250 for the WNNA.
"The service that the WNAA offers is second to none, not only do they transport patients to the nearest hospital but they also carry senior doctors to the scene of the incident providing lifesaving treatment and medication at the scene and en-route to hospital. It wasn't until a personal friend needed assistance from the WNAA that I realised how important and efficient the service was," explains, Bob Bowler, MD at Showerlux and keen clay pigeon shooter. "As a local employer, Showerlux felt it appropriate to support a local charity and the WNAA seemed like a very worthwhile cause which is why we offered to help with the sponsorship of the black tie event."
The WNAA is a registered charity relying totally on public donations, fundraising activities and sponsorship, and with an annual basic running cost of over £1.5 million raising this amount of cash is no small feat.
