SYSTEM SIX KITCHENS TAKE UP THE NSPCC DRAGON'S CHALLENGE
System Six Kitchens Join Fund Raising Campaign for Childline
Published:  18 November, 2009

System Six Kitchens based in Exeter jumped at the chance to join a Devon charity fund-raising campaign spearheaded by Deborah Meadon of the Dragon's Den TV programme, called The Dragon's Challenge.

The Exeter based kitchen manufacturer's Managing Director, Ian Foster, was shocked to learn that ONE THIRD of Exeter's vulnerable children's desperate calls for help to Childline have to remain unanswered simply because of a lack of funding.  "The very fact that these children have the courage to pick up the phone and make that call for help in the first place makes you think how terrible their situation must be" said Mr Foster, "but for us to sit back and know that 33% of these children's calls remain unanswered is absolutely unthinkable.  We simply have to do something about this lack of funding to stop it happening in the future".

System Six Kitchens are embarking on a fund-raising campaign over the next 6 months and so far have encouraged some of the local primary and secondary schools to join in by putting on non-uniform days; their Production Manager, Nigel Jones, has volunteered to undergo some sponsored body waxing; the staff will be locking up their Sales Manager, Andy Dale, in the staff canteen and refusing to let him out until he has phoned everyone stored in his mobile phone and gained a donation from them; and their major fund raising activity which is being widely supported by their suppliers and customers alike, is a Gala Ball at the Exeter Chief's rugby ground on 4th March 2010 which promises to be a truly glittering occasion.   Tables and sponsorship packages are still available - please contact Sarah McNamara for further details.

"The support that we are receiving from everyone is overwhelming" commented Mr Foster "but if anyone would like to join us in our fund raising activities, attend the Ball, or simply have a good idea that we might be interested in, then please contact us on 01392 255150.  We would love to hear from you".
