Triflow concepts awarded gold at the Design Awards 2009 for Zaha Hadid tap design
Published:  16 October, 2009

Triflow Concepts has been awarded Gold in the Product Innovation category at the Design Awards 2009 for their revolutionary new kitchen and bathroom taps designed by Zaha Hadid.

The awards ceremony, held on 6th October at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in central London, brought together the design industry's elite for an afternoon of recognition, inspiration and entertainment. Attended by almost 400 senior figures from across the design industry, the event focused on recognising excellence in design for the interiors of residential projects in the UK, with a specific concentration on the kitchen and bathroom.

The Product Innovation Awards, which are at the heart of the Design Awards scheme, celebrate and reward products that demonstrate real innovation, and highlight the vital role of manufacturers in driving innovation in design in the home.

Rob Healey, Marketing Director for Triflow Concepts collected the award alongside Dylan Baker-Rice, representing Zaha Hadid Architects. Following the ceremony, Mr Healey commented "Triflow Concepts are delighted to receive the Gold Award for Product Innovation, it's a real tribute to the dedication and excellence of our design and engineering staff".

The Triflow taps for kitchen and bathroom by Zaha Hadid combine unbridled creativity with impeccable quality, peerless engineering and exacting attention to detail. Advanced methods of production, new approaches to shell casting and a unique ceramic coring process never before used in the creation of a tap were required to bring the designs to fruition.

Featuring Triflow's exclusive, patented three-way technology, filtered drinking water is delivered through a dedicated waterway in the spout thereby isolating it from the hot and cold water streams. The latter are controlled by the tap's discreet handle, while a touch-sensitive electronic button activates the filtered water.

Rob Healey concludes: "We are extremely proud of our recent collaboration with Zaha Hadid and identify with this architect who continually pushes the boundaries of design. The win is truly deserved and reflects Triflow Concepts' ongoing commitment to technological excellence and innovation."
