Staff at shower designer and manufacturer Aqualisa dusted themselves down and rolled out the red carpet on Tuesday, May 26th when they welcomed HRH the Duke of Kent. The Duke's visit followed Aqualisa receiving a coveted Queen's Award for Enterprise last Summer.
The award, which was conferred in the scheme's prestigious innovation category, recognised Aqualisa's revolutionary digital showering technology and was one of just 11 Queen's Awards given to companies throughout the South East.
The Duke was given a guided tour of Aqualisa's Westerham, Kent premises, introduced to some of the company's 250-strong employees, including members of the in-house R&D team and was given the opportunity to find out how at first hand just how innovative Aqualisa's digital bathroom technology can be.
Aqualisa's Chief Executive George Letman commented, "Earning the recognition of a Queen's Award for Enterprise was a huge triumph for the many people at Aqualisa who have been committed to developing digital bathroom technology over the last decade. At present, British businesses - and particularly those involved with innovation - need as much support and encouragement as possible and accordingly, we were honoured and delighted to welcome such an important visitor."
