    The commitment to manufacturing in the UK is one that cooking brand Stoves has taken very seriously, a fact underlined by the decision to produce its new built-in collection at parent company GDHA’s North West base.

    The stylish built-in portfolio, launched in late 2010 with all products labelled Made In Britain, consists of nine single and double ovens and 13 hobs and reasserted Stoves’ position as a market-leading built-in brand.

    The gap between low cost and premium appliance brands is certainly smaller than it used to be, as changing consumer attitudes, a tough economic climate and advancements in technology are allowing value brands to shine. Amongst the many competing factors in this competitive market place - price and customer service have got to be key. I agree it is important to offer a choice of ‘good, better and best’ price points and brands, but times are tough and consumers are demanding more for less.
