    There is no doubt that challenging times lie ahead for all retailers as the full impact of the cost cutting measures put in place by the new government filter through the economy. From January next year VAT will rise to 20% and whilst this may create a mini-boom as customers bring forward their home improvement plans to save the extra VAT it may mean a dip in orders after the January sales.
