The Tile Association Awards 2008 - You are invited to send in your nominations

The TTA Awards are the Oscars of the tile industry. You don't have to be a TTA member to submit a nomination, win or be at the awards ceremony.

Bathroom & Kitchen Update are sponsoring the award "Best use of tile in a domestic environment " which recognises the use of tile in an individual home.

Last years winner in this category was St Martin's Church, Tipton .The church itself had been unused for twenty nine years and the plan was to turn it in to a four bedroom private residence. This long term restoration project is unique in many aspects to the extent that the Channel 4 programme "Grand Designs" featured the project. There are 21 awards in total across 6 categories.

People - outstanding achievement, best tile fixer, best newcomer Business - best independent retailer, best multiple retail, best distributor, best tiling contractor.

Marketing - best tile marketing, best website

Environmental - best initiative to reduce environmental impact

Products - wall tile of the year, floor tile of the year, best innovation, best natural product

Projects- small construction project, large project, best technical use of tile, best in a housing development, best in the leisure industry, best in a domestic environment, best use of tile by an architect or designer.

Nominations, together with supporting material or samples, should be submitted by 31 January 2008 to The Tile Association by post or email.

The award winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony at The Birmingham Hilton Metropole on Saturday 19th April 2008.
