Washstations and Vanity Units growing as focal point in bathrooms

In the past when people imagined washstations and vanity units it was with the very clear perception that they were purely functional pieces of furniture. However, the more proactive of furniture manufacturers are becoming increasingly progressive in their designs, the result being a clear shift away from simple ‘square box’ cabinetry.

We are now seeing innovative and visually striking pieces being introduced to the market, with a view to stirring fresh interest amongst consumers and tapping into the growing desirability of converging bathrooms and living spaces. Indeed, the latest designs of washstations and vanity units are as visually striking as we have ever seen; emphasising that the bathroom is a room that demands the same aesthetic qualities as the rest of the home.

The demand for colour in the bathroom, as with the rest of the home, is growing as consumers are becoming less conservative in taste. Thankfully pastel shades are now firmly out of fashion, with it now being more ‘in vogue’ to see a splash of vibrant colour in a washstation or vanity unit. These pieces can create a real focal point in the bathroom, and offer a far more distinctive and unique aesthetic than the more mainstream pieces.
