Just occasionally a manufacturer will totally rethink the design on an every-day fitment. That is what the highly respected French company Wirquin Plastiques has done with the humble bottle trap, producing one model that is exceptionally small, in sleek modern styling that will not collect dust and, most important of all, can be used for washbasins, hand-basins, bidets, sinks or even, with a special connector, washing machines.
For standard bathroom applications the 1.1/4” fitting already on the trap is used. If a larger diameter connector is required, a 1.1/2” connector supplied in the bubble pack can be quickly push-fitted. The waste pipe, regardless of its size or material, is now simply pushed into the washer, leaving a secure watertight connection.
The Universal Bottle Trap is remarkably compact, measuring only 120mm deep, unless greater height is needed for connection in which case an integral telescopic neck can be extended by up to 175mm.
