KTW Distribution has added four vibrant retro finishes to its extensive range of high gloss doors and drawer fronts. Aimed mainly at fitted kitchens, these evocative vinyl fascias bring concept to reality for the UK kitchen market.
Revivals of the 1970s colourful kitchen have been discussed and displayed at trade exhibitions, but have yet to break into the commercial market. True to form, KTW has fasttracked a selection of retro colours into its range, and expects a strong response from buyers eager for a look which is bold yet chic, and decidedly different.
KTW’s managing director Warnock Watson is confident that the market is ripe for this fresh, sunny look: “These retro colours will give a boost to the already considerable momentum behind high gloss. Whether or not end users remember the look from its first outing in the 1970s, they will see this as a bold statement and a real departure from tradition. These are colours which feature strongly in fashion-conscious areas of product design, from phones to toasters, clothes to cars, and we need to respond to this. These vivid colours fit well with a new mood of individualism which has emerged among the public when it comes to choosing interiors. They also look fabulous in a showroom and are guaranteed to grab the attention.”
