Kohler Mira is the first member of the Bathroom Manufacturers Asssociation (BMA) to have an employee gain the Certificate in Bathroom Studies from the Bathroom Academy.
Avril Capel started with Kohler Mira in June 1998 as a customer services representative and has held the position of technical advisor since September 2003. As well as handling shower calls, Avril is also one of the company’s most senior staff members specialising in trays and enclosures. She beat off stiff competition from two other Kohler Mira employees to become the first person at the company to complete the Certificate in Bathroom Studies.
The e-learning courses available from the BMA’s Bathroom Academy can be found at www.bathroomacademy. co.uk. All learning material issued by the Bathroom Academy is written by leading industry experts. Students can work at their own pace, either from their place of work or at home. The courses are designed to raise standards of service to the consumer, recognise existing skills and enhance training already undertaken.
Commenting on Avril’s achievement, Kohler Mira training specialist Phil Parker said: “Avril worked very hard for the certificate and was delighted to learn that she was not only the first Kohler person, but also the first person from a BMA member company to achieve this accolade.”
Kohler Mira hopes to have nine successful staff members to have achieved the Bathroom Certificate by the end of 2007.
