Smith’s goes green!
Published:  01 August, 2007

Smith’s Environmental Products have launched the Ecovector, the next generation of fan convector, designed for use with the heating systems of today and tomorrow. As the leading supplier of domestic and light commercial fan convectors in the UK, Smith’s unveiled two models of the Ecovector, aiming both at the domestic market, with further models to be launched later this year.

Designed to look more like a radiator, the flat-fronted Ecovector is operated by a single-speed fan; in fact, it runs so quietly, it is difficult to tell when the unit is actually turned on. It also features simple, easy to operate controls and has a built-in thermostat.

Jim Bennett (pictured), Sales and Marketing Director at Smith’s Environmental Products, commented: “The Ecovector is a first for Smith’s. It works equally well with any type of heat generator; standard boiler, condensing boiler or renewable technology. It can be fitted to existing heating systems and can be mixed on the same system with any natural convectors. This makes it the most energy efficient heat emitter on the market.”

The Ecovector’s heat exchanger holds just 400ml of water – five per cent of the water required for an equivalent output radiator. This low water content means it heats up faster and responds quickly to changing heating requirements, dictated by fluctuating environmental changes.
