Flat conversions come in all shapes and sizes and recently Elfin Kitchens had the opportunity to provide 10 pre-built units ranging from 1000 to 1500mm to an old Victorian conversion in Watford aimed at “key workers”.
The age of the property left developer Stuart Taylor, from Rhodes Property Company, with quite a challenge as he wanted each bedsit to be fully contained.
Stuart had seen Elfin Kitchens at a trade show and remembered the compact kitchens. “The units from Elfin were ideal. Because of the nature of the property we had varying sized rooms which required full working kitchens and cupboards. Obviously if the units were too big it would have eaten into the living space, but the Elfin kitchens are ideal. Now each room has cooking, refrigeration and washing up facilities as well as a hotplate.”
To compliment the kitchens, Stuart ordered a range of matching cupboards and splash backs from Elfin’s new “Additions” range. The new flats were completed in June and tenants began occupying the rooms soon after.
“Our units start at 900mm and are designed to give the widest range of services in the smallest possible space. Stuart’s development was the ideal challenge for us. He had a variety of rooms all of which were different sizes with each requiring a kitchen,” Bob Andrew, Managing Director of Elfin Kitchens, commented.
