Dornbracht based in Iserlohn Germany, is an internationally active manufacturer of high-quality design fixtures and accessories for the bathroom and kitchen. The company regularly wins international design prizes for its products and since 1996 has been characterised by sustained commitment to culture. The publication “Dornbracht – the SPIRIT of WATER” has appeared in a bathroom and kitchen edition since 1996, and documents the self-image of Dornbracht as a company with cultural relevance and refers to the spectrum of the Dornbracht brand.
Focus on Supernova:
In March 2009 at the ISH Fair in Frankfurt, Dornbracht launched a new lifestyle-oriented series in the form of Supernova. Supernova is a fixture of high sculptural quality. With its many facets and polygonal surfaces, it is reminiscent of precision-worked crystal and as such Supernova impresses its surroundings with ever new reflections of objects and colours. In keeping with the sculptural character of the fixture, the architecture of the Supernova lead-bathroom is not a classical space. Instead it becomes lifestyle furniture, which can be freely placed in the room, without definition of space.
In order to emphasis reflections of light, Supernova is available in gleaming surfaces only. These surfaces highlight the very distinct, geometric design vocabulary of the fixture. With the Champagne coating,
Dornbracht is introducing an additional gleaming surface especially for Supernova: A light gold that eminently suits the renaissance currently being experienced in interior design and other lifestyle areas. Champagne is a surface that is both glamorous and progressive, of which the top layer consists of 22 carat gold.
Two pieces of technical equipment also celebrated their premiere with the launch of Supernova: A new cartridge has been used in the taps for the bidet and guest WC, through which the water can be comfortably controlled. It's function: If the tap handle is opened clockwise, the cartridge first opens the coldwater flow. Only when the tap is turned further does mixing with hot water take place. Thanks to this process, the water can be carefully controlled and, at the same time, energy is saved. Within the waterfall spouts, a plastic insert is used, enabling optimal water flow and an even full stream.
A further technical detail is the new air jet made of plastic which is already part of the sophisticated Tara faucet also by Dornbracht. It improves the spray and radiance of the water and reduces noises with simultaneously less water consumption at the washbasin taps (reduction of the water flow to 7 l/min). Thanks to its anti-scale system, the air jet also provides long-term protection against calcification.
Supernova is available for all areas of bathroom application (washbasin, bathtub, shower, bidet) with the option of lever handles or handles in cube form. The product range comprises around 60 products – which in addition to single-lever taps and three-hole taps also includes two waterfall taps: for wall mounting and also for the first time at Dornbracht, free-standing. The range is complemented by comprehensive accessories.
