While changes to Part M of the building regulations are pushing up the number of bathrooms per property (a cloakroom is now a legal requirement on all new-build properties, thus increasing the bathroom tally for an average home to three – cloak, family bathroom and en-suite) the actual size of each room is being reduced to compensate. In fact, the average family bathroom is now a paltry 2m x 2m – ensuring it truly lives up to its ‘smallest room in the house’ moniker.
Following on from the success of its 200mm reduced depth furniture, which enables the installation of super slim storage to suit even the teeniest of bathrooms, Shades is now introducing an innovative 500mm-wide vanity and 500mm-wide WC cabinet that will provide installers and designers with the freedom to fit a basin and
toilet within a run of just one metre. Or, if that’s still unfeasible, a 500mm vanity can be squeezed in on its own, with a coordinating 500mm WC positioning opposite – perfect for that prerequisite cloakroom or essential en-suite.
The 500mm-wide vanity and WC cabinet will be available in a choice of door styles and countertops to achieve a stylish fitted look. It is pictured here in the sophisticated new latte finish, Farini.
