At the forefront of water conservation initiatives, Impulse Bathrooms welcomed the Building Regulations Part G which were due to come into force in October. This would limit potable water usage on new build to 125 litres per person per day (compared with an average current consumption of 150 litres).
The company has been supplying 4.5/3 litre Tribune dual flush WC suites into Australia for several years, where water saving has long been an issue and rigorous standards are enforced to ensure products meet requirements. Introducing the technology into the UK in 2005, this capability is now available on nine domestic bathroom suites plus various WCs for use in commercial properties.
Impulse stocks WCs ready to meet water saving specifications in the belief that the public sector in particular has a moral and fiscal duty to take the initiative by introducing measures now on both new build and existing refurbishment projects without waiting for new legislation.
