James Latham add Silica solid surface luxury worktops to its portfolio
Published:  21 December, 2009

Worktops cover the largest area in a kitchen so it is paramount that quality, design and aesthetics are taken into consideration when planning this space. Affordability is also a key factor for many clients.

James Latham, the UK's leading distributor of timber, panels, flooring and solid surface is adding Silica worktops to its portfolio of decorative interior products and is predicting great success for this product.

Silica solid surface worktops are surfaced with HI-MACS Natural Acrylic Stone. Constructed from 6mm HI-MACS sheet bonded to 30mm MR MDF with a 1mm HPL balancer to the underside, the 6mm surface allows the integration of drainer grooves, hob-rods and sinks.

Silica carries the prestigious FIRA Gold Award and has a 5 year guarantee (excluding installation).

Silica will be available ex-stock from James Latham in a range of 8 colours and a range of popular sizes plus accessories. Technical advice and training with regard to finishing and installation is available.

Chris Sutton, Director, commented: "Solid surface continues to take a greater share of the kitchen worktop sector and Silica offers a solution to customers who want the benefits of solid surface but require a lower price than the bespoke option. Solid surface is one of our fastest growing products in every area of construction. With over 200 product options and more soon to be introduced we will be able to assist our customers to add value to their product offer."
